Hera contemplated the fact that there was absolutely nothing to do on Mount Olympus, apart from mingle with the other gods, that day, as she lounged in her golden throne. Two centaurs stood on either side of her, fanning her with large palm leaves and feeding her grapes when ever she signalled for them to do so. She was even beginning to tire of ordering the lesser gods about and that was a first, she was sure of it.
With an impatient wave of her hand, the centaurs were dismissed and Hera sat up properly, wondering what she could do about the problem. Surely there was some sort-of solution. After all, she was the Queen of the Gods and with just a few words she could have people hurrying over to wait on her and entertain her... so why didn't that please her?
Where was everyone? Now that Hera thought about it, she hadn't seen any of the Gods or Goddesses in quite a while and she beginning to long for some company. Even the sighting of her good-for-nothing husband would have cheered her up considerably. Unfortunately any signs of her husband were rare. He was either out saving Greece or playing away. Neither of these things concerned her, as he so lightly put it.
